In additon to Kevins sighting of the Goosander with the large brood I counted 31 chicks on a phone pic the Wife took yesterday. I was wondering whether another female has died and her brood latched onto this female and hers?

Hafod Farm, Brynmawr

Main Sighting: House Martin
At least 30 House Martins feeding over the meadow below Hafod Road. First eggshells under nests last weekend but several nests are still being built. At least there will now be plenty of mud! Two old nests were taken over by House Sparrows and they now have plenty of fledglings around the garden. Overall, House Martin numbers seem the same as last year or perhaps a little better.
