John Davies saw a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker Flying over A40 AT Raglan All birds seen between the hours of 15.00 and 18.00

Cwmbran

Main Sighting:
Wednesday 12th March. Very strong passage of Lesser Black-backed Gulls heading North over Cwmbran from AM through PM. Obvious Scandinavian birds (intermedius) with some graellsii. First 'spush's seen this year.

Llandegfedd Reservoir

Main Sighting:
Visited Llandegfedd Reservoir, and for some reason thought the North east shore was off limits until 30th March. So only visited the dam end, north inlets, west bank, and west inlets, up the lane to Sluvad Road. No sign of any Spring visitors, but 2 Little Grebe, 27 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Cormorant, 11 Grey Heron, 33 Canada Geese, (including one bird investigating island in North East Inlet). 29 Mallard, 21 Wigeon, 26 Teal, 20 Tufted Duck, 3 Buzzard, 3 Moorhen, 35 Coot, 1 Common Snipe, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kingfisher in West Inlet.
