Goldcliff

Main Sighting: Temmincks Stint
The bright bird showed for over an hour from 2.35pm, giving intermittent good views from the new platform. The second, previously reported, bird remained stubbornly hidden. Two drake Garganey and two Ruff also present.

Peterstone Gout

Main Sighting: Harbour Porpoise
Additonal to the 6th, a Harbour Porpoise off the pill (previously also seen by Adrian Plant). Today, 2 Bar Tailed Godwit, a Grey Plover, 15 Whimbrel,24 Dunlin, 42 Shelduck, the Pintail, Heron, 2 Lgrt,Kestrel, Buzzard. Trickle of Swallows with arrival of local House Martins and Swifts. N.B. Wind had gone through 180deg to strong SWly.

Blaenserchan

Gorgeous walk in Blaenserchan this pm: two singing Garden Warbler, Redstart and Cuckoo, 10 sp of butterfly included Green Hairstreak, Dingy Skipper and 4 Small Copper, plus Green Tiger Beetle and Slow Worm.

Blaen Bran and Mynydd Maen

Main Sighting: Merlin
Merlin chasing Swallows past Transmitter towards the British. Numerous Meadow Pipit and lower down some Tree pipit territories. Stonechat Whinchat and wheatear nr. Mountain Air Car Park. Buzzard being harassed by Ravens and a hovering kestrel towards Blaen Bran ridge. Wood Warblers down amongst the beech woods and overwatched by a tree top perched cuckoo .

Peterstone Gout

Main Sighting: Arctic Skuas and Merlin
On the afternoon tide: 2 close-in immature Arctic Skuas flew up channel, 23 Whimbrel,1 Dunlin, the male Pintail. A female Merlin,presumably a migrant, flying at high speed west along the sea wall,landed in a distant tree, and was then disturbed and flew down into the field.
