GLWR Goldcliff

Main Sighting:
19/4 0945-1115. Goldcliff 4 Whimbrel, 20+ Dunlin, 1 Greenshank, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Avocets, 8 Black Tailed Godwits, 2+ White Wagtails. 1130-1230. Salthouse Lane. 1 Cuckoo, several Blackcaps, Whitethroats. Reed, Cetti'ss and Sedge Warblers heard.

Cuckoo heard at Cwm Lickey Pontypool 21/04/03. Several Swallows at Penyrheol, Pontypool, also good numbers of Stonechat, Linnet and Wheatears.

Uskmouth.20/04.Good views fem Marsh Harrier over the reedbed lagoons c0945.Also nice variety of migrants inc Whimbrel(1)Cuckoo,Swallows,Sand&House Martins(4),male Whinchat, Wheatear,Reed,Sedge & Willow Warblers,Chiffs,Blackcap etc.Also 63 Tufties,c10 singing Cetti`s and 11 Little Grebies!

Collister Pill

Main Sighting:
Collister Pill to Caldicot Pill-19th April-Migrant birds of interest were Whimbrel-47,Bar-Tailed Godwit-15,Knot-10,Greenshank-1,Turnstone-2,male Whinchat-1,Sedge Warbler-1,Common Whitethroat-3, plus a small passage of Swallows.

Uskmouth Pools 19/04 11/45am 2hr Visit.4Swallows.Whitethroat.3Reed Warblers.5 CettisWarblers.4 ChiffChaff.3 Cormorant.4 Little Grebe.2 Nesting MuteSwan.13Pair Tufted Duck.3Little Egret.Plus a Cock Pheasant calling in distance,other common species seen.

Peterstone

Main Sighting:
Visited Peterstone including Gout, Pill, and towards the village at high tide this morning (18.4.03). Among the birds seen include 1 Great Crested Grebe on the Gout 4 Mute Swan which included 1 bird on the nest in the Gout, 11 Shelduck, 25 Mallard, 8 Teal, 4 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler, 5 Tufted Duck, 4 Coot, 2 Oystercatchers, 38 Common Redshanks, 13 Dunlin, 7 Whimbrel, 1 Pheasant, 1 singing Garden Warbler, 1 singing Reed Warbler. Also reported but seen by myself, 1 Golden Plover, several Curlew, and Whimbrel.
