Wood Warbler observed in full song in mixed woodland east of the heath on Beacon Hill, also Willow Warbler, Black Cap, Chiff Chaff.

Cuckoo called twice this morning but didn’t stay. A corking male Whinchat near the old reservoir, a few Swallows and my first House Martin over, Redstart singing.

Excellent walk at Peterstone sea wall; 39 species total; peregrine seen sitting in salt marshes for several minutes, then with oystercatcher kill; mixed flock of 18 dunlin (breeding plumage) and 7 ringed plover moving around together; pochard, teal, wigeon, tufted, shelduck, pintail, mallard; canada and greylag geese; 3 little egrets; pair of grey heron; pair mistle thrush; LBBB, herring gull; etc

One sole Swift amongst a large mixed flock of approximately 100 Swallows and House Martins, high above the Nedern Brook (1600hrs) not far from the A48 flyover. Little Egrets; Tufted Ducks; Lapwing; Teal; Canada Geese; 12 Mallard ducklings; Shelducks, etc. Great Spotted Woodpecker ‘drumming’; Blackcap and Chiffchaffs singing.

2 Curlews calling and flying around in the vicinity of the church . Along the river a Kingfisher , a Dipper , a Treecreeper and several Goosanders & Sandpipers .
