Main sighting: Osprey

Early Osprey in tree opposite bench then flew inland. Extra present on my 75th birthday!

Main sighting: Pintail

There was a minimum of 148-Pintails today at high tide.

Main sighting: Red Fox

I saw a fox inside the electric fence a couple of days ago and again this morning.
NRW have been alerted and Kevin Dupé set a trap, yesterday hoping to capture and relocate it.

Main sighting: Brent Goose

Plenty geese from the avocet hide,including 20-Pink Feet and a slightly scruffy Brent which spent most of the time preening.It lacked the white neck markings so must have been a juvenile.Photo on Gwent Birds.12h00-14h00

20 Pink-footed Geese on Becs late morning.

Main sighting: Little Gull

First winter Little Gull, a few yards offshore, heading down channel, around midday.

Main sighting: Red Kite

I went to Llanlowell hoping for a Smew or Goldeneye but only saw a single male Goosander. On the way back to Caerleon a Red Kite flew over the road.

One offshore in a feeding flock of Black Headed Gull. There for at least an hour around the high tide

Collister Pill: 200+ Curlew, 20 Redshank, 2 Snipe, 100+Shelduck, 90 Wigeon.
1 Whooper Swan dead on saltmarsh.
4 Kestrels hunting in area.
300+ Lapwing on fields near Undy.

Main sighting: Disturbance

There will be some disturbance at Goldcliff Lagoons around 12.30pm – 1.30pm on Tuesday when we carry out monthly monitoring. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Main sighting: Kittiwake

c68 Kitiwake sitting on the water and flying around approx 4.30 pm eventually appeared to head off high over Aust services

Main sighting: Goldeneye

Short afternoon visit. River very full but quiet birdwise with just 3 Goldeneye (down from last week), 2 Goosander (a pair) and one Little Grebe. Nine Fieldfare.
